Lauren Conrad’s Style & Beauty Books

I’m absolutely obsessed/addicted to Lauren Conrad’s Style and Beauty Books!  When Style came out, it was near my birthday and I bought the book as a birthday gift to myself.  I couldn’t put it down.  I love her style, simple, classic, and chic.  Then Beauty came out again right before my birthday and of course I bought the book as a gift to myself again!  I have (so far) found this book just as informative as the first.  She gives tips and tutorials on hair and makeup!  She also goes into other beauty aspects of life, such as skincare, taking care of your body inside and out, keeping yourself stress free, and so on.  A lot of the things can be common sense, but I love the packaging of the books.  Everything is written out crisp and clean.  I love to refer back to it to remind myself of things to do for myself.  I recommend every get themselves a copy or check it out!

I love how her style is changed a bit over the years, but she doesn’t stray too far from herself!

Do you have Lauren’s Style or Beauty book?  What do you think?

Birthday (Recap) at Disney!

Last Saturday was my birthday and I spent the day with family and friends at Walt Disney’s Epcot for the Food & Wine Festival.  It’s honestly one of my favorite times of the year.  Not for my birthday, but that for the entire month of October you get to try foods from all over the world!  It’s a different atmosphere than regular Disney.  Definitely more adults at Epcot in the World Showcase that month.  Everyone is so carefree and just having a grand old time!  My favorite is to end the day at England’s Pub and watch all the crazies come out at play.  I also decided to get myself a gift from Barnes and Noble, courtesy of the gift card my parents got me. I adore Lauren Conrad and have a bit of a girl crush.  I LOVED her Style book and was so anxious for the Beauty book!  I definitely recommend it!

Cake Decorating

For the past 3 weeks I’ve been attending cake decorating classes.  They are all introductory courses, but definitely have good pointers to start decorating.  We have mainly used regular icing and different techniques to decorate with them.  (I didn’t understand the importance of consistency and decorating.)  The above cake is inspiration.  I want to venture into fondant next!  However, I think I’m going to teach myself it.  I’ve been researching online and checking out recipes and tips.  I like to self-teach myself some things, so I can work at my pace.  (Plus, there are tons of videos for visual learning!)  Check out the cake, cookies, and cupcake I’ve decorated!  (This coming Tuesday is my last day!)
